Casey and Carrie both grew up in Polk County, Oregon where we met and raised our family. We both have always enjoyed a good cup of coffee and know our favorite spots to enjoy a cup whether it is hot, iced, or cold brew.
In January 2025, we traveled to Costa Rica and had an opportunity to visit a coffee plantation and learned about the history and culture of coffee, coffee growing, and the finer art of pour over coffee. This trip sparked a broader love for coffee. In March 2025, we traveled to the Big Island of Hawai'i where we visited many coffee plantations and roasters (far too many to count) where we continued to learn about the coffee growing process as well as roasting and brewing. We drank (coffee) our way around the Big Island and our love for coffee grew.
Upon arriving home we continued our research and discovered that coffee roasting was something that we could do at home in small batches. We also discovered that passion, that we developed in Costa Rica and Hawai'i, was something that we could share with our family and our community, therefore Phillips Coffee Roasters was born. Casey is the primary Roaster and Carrie providers support and a helping hand wherever is needed.
